Two Ways to Learn Lists
Set cards reveal all items at once: rate how many you remembered. List cards reveal items one at a time: master each item in sequence. Choose the right format for what you are learning.

Struggle with One Item? Practice It Separately
RemNote tracks which items you forget. If you struggle with one item in a list, you will get partial cards to master just that item. Once you know all the pieces, you practice the full list again.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are multi-line flashcards?
Multi-line flashcards let you test yourself on a list of items rather than a single answer. You can either reveal all items at once (Set cards) or flip through them one by one (List cards).
Perfect for memorizing sequences, steps, or groups of related facts.
What's the difference between Set and List cards?
Set cards reveal all items at once: you rate how many you remembered.
List cards reveal items one at a time in sequence: you rate each item individually.
Use Set cards when order does not matter (like symptoms of a disease). Use List cards when order matters (like steps in a procedure).
How do I create a multi-line flashcard?
Type your question, then >> and press Enter to create multiple answer lines. Add each answer as a child bullet.
For List cards that test items in sequence, use numbered items (1. 2. 3.) instead of bullets.
What happens if I forget one item in a list?
RemNote tracks which specific items you struggle with. If you forget one item, you will get partial cards to practice just that item until you master it.
Once you have mastered all the difficult items, RemNote shows you the full list again.
Can multi-line cards contain other multi-line cards?
Yes! You can create recursive multi-line cards where the answer items themselves have sub-items.
RemNote creates separate cards for each level, so you can test the top-level list and drill down into sub-lists independently.
